This choice: Waking up to a hearty travelers breakfast • Go Back...Chapter #8The Most Important Meal of the Day by: Unknown Sylvia's eyes freaked open slowly, her limbs stretching under the red bed sheets. "Mmmm..." She cooed, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated from n exceptionally good rest. Her previous stress nearly melted away, especially when she caught a whiff of fresh breakfast. Once she was fully awake, the young paladin hopped off her bunk gracefully. She scratched her he's and walked in the direction of the barrack's kitchen, her feet still bare on the cold wood flooring.
As Sylvia reached the epicenter of smell, she plopped down in her chair at the table. "Good morning, Lysa." Sylvia gestured over to the elf spicing and preparing the final parts of what looks to be a rather large meal. "Looks like you're out here early," she poured a glass of juice before continuing, "Aiming to flex your culinary muscles?"
"Heh, that's about right," Lysa was starting to pull the meat she had prepared off the spit, "I'm making sure little-miss-soon-to-be-paladin gets a proper send off." She said, turning from her work to flash Sylvia a smile.
Lysa and Sylvia were both good friends, they both joined at the same time and clicked right off the bat. The fast friends were both ecstatic about joining and becoming paladins. However, as training went on, the two were forced to do simple work at the barracks from time to time, and their overall positions changed. Lysa was assigned to cooking for a few weeks, and in that time she discovered her love for cooking. Lysa requested to take over as barrack chef, which ended up being quite popular with everyone after she'd proven how good it all tasted. The career path did stunt her drive to become a paladin however, swapping training time for cooking practice.
With all the cooking she'd been doing, Lysa wasn't quite the thinnest elf... She got in the habit of taste testing everything she made, slowly but surely adding to her frame. She stuck out among her people, chubby by most standards; sporting a pudgy potbelly and a round backside, only matched by thick thighs. Not to say she wasn't very pretty, as she was. Her hair a crimson red, a soft and welcoming face.
"Looks like you're making a rather big send-off, huh?" Sylvia smiled at her friend and sipped on her drink. Lysa washed her hands clean and loaded Sylvia's plate high, untying her apron before walking over and setting it down in front of her.
"A traveler needs to eat, and as they say! Its the most important meal of the day." She pointed up at the air and nodded her head resolutely.
"True, true... But this might only tempt me to stay," Sylvia eyed the food, taking in its divine scent, "Dont be offended if I dont finish it all." Sylvia looked back up at the chubby elf.
"Nonsense, I wont be offended... Just slightly sad." Lysa joked, chuckling at Sylvia's show of concern. "But eat up, dont want you to be late." She walked back over to the food, getting another plate prepared.
"Mhmm, orders received." Sylvia threw a salute, getting her hands on her utensils as Lysa came walked back with a loaded plate... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
