Shepard was restless in the days following the destruction of the Collector base. The Illusive Man was the least of his concerns. It felt strange, not having a goal after putting so much effort towards the Collectors.
He often found himself wandering the ship and talking to his crew. Especially Miranda, considering their encounter in the engine room prior to the assault on the Collector base. The door to Miranda’s office opened in front of him and Miranda looked up from his desk and smiled at him. “Good afternoon Shepard.” She said, taking her hands away from her keyboard.
“Hey Miranda, just trying to get a sense of where the crew is at. Thoughts?” Shepard said, crossing his arms as the door closed behind him.
Miranda laughed softly. “You would think that after sticking it to the Illusive man and quitting Cerberus I would be a lot more restless. But I feel fine. The lack of work is a bit troubling though.” She said, glancing down at her keyboard.
“I’m sure that you’ll find something to take up your time.” Shepard responded reassuringly.
“Well, maybe you could help me with that Commander.” She said, standing up and moving to the side of her desk.
“Really, and how’s that?” Shepard responded, giving Miranda the cue to elaborate.
“I’ve been thinking that we should expand on our relationship a bit…” Miranda said, locking her eyes on Shepard to see how he responds.
