Maya Hart was not having a good day. This was not an unusual occurrence, people as jaded as Maya rarely had good days, but having recently been the butt of more height jokes, with her short legs having prevented her from catching up to the taunters, Maya's bad mood was exacerbated.
"I'm not that short." Maya muttered to herself as she trudged through the foliage beneath Riley's bay window. She paused for a moment as she felt her skin tingle, looking over to see the bright green leaves of a plant that she'd never seen before rubbing against her skin. "What the hell?" She asked. She'd taken this path countless times through her life and never seen this plant. She hoped Riley hadn't redecorated again.
Hoisting herself upwards, though the act felt a bit harder than normal, Maya pulled herself into Riley's bedroom, seeing her best friend waiting for her.
"I'm not that short right?" Maya opened, trying to keep her insecurities out of her voice.
"No. Don't let others tell you that." Riley said sincerely.
"Well that's easy for you to say, look how tall you are." Maya whined, motioning to her significantly taller best friend. "You're growing taller right now."
"Uh... no I'm not." The brunette slowly got out.
Too caught up in her issues, Maya hadn't really been paying attention to her surroundings until Riley's last statement. Looking around, Maya gaped as Riley's bedroom got bigger and bigger. Or more accurately, she was getting smaller and smaller, dwindling down until she stopped at an inch in height.
Now Maya could admit that she'd often been intimidated by Riley's greater height but the pale girl's skin turned even whiter as she looked up at her building sized best friend.
With surprising delicacy for her, relative, size Riley picked up the tiny Maya and brought her up to face level. "Maya. Are you okay?" She asked.
It was all too much. Maya's eyes rolled back and she passed out in Riley's palm.
"Oh. Wow. Ok." The eldest Matthews child deadpanned. "I... um... I really don't know what to do now. That's new."
The thought of this unknown feeling caused her to smile for a moment before she heard a knock at her door. "Riley?" her mother called. In a blind panic, Riley
1) Shoves Maya in the back of her panties before Topanga reminds her that she promised to drive her parents to the airport. On the drive back, an unhappy Maya wakes up as Riley is stuck in traffic, giving the brunette a nice distraction.
2) Throws Maya out the open window. A somewhat premature act as Topanga was just reminding her daughter that she, Cory, and Auggie will be out for a while. Riley must now find Maya and try not to get herself shrunk.
