I've taken the liberty of considering each initial option as being topical and so here I'll offer up a few possibilities for humans to wind up in Equestria.

My Little Humans: A group of humans from an equivalent to the modern world end up in Equestria but have been shrunk.
Multiversal Micros: Our world is actually on a smaller scale than that of Equestria; some humans are transported over to the colossal-scale Equestria.
Invasion of the Colossal Equines: Ponies from giant-size Equestria arrive on Earth to annex it in the name of Celestia; Resistance is Futile.
Slice of Life: An option of first contact between humanity and Equestria without drastic differences in size.
Other: Pick your own.
