Chapter #3

Stopped by the hallway monitor

    by: CptJohnWade Author IconMail Icon
Emily was now late and was rushing through the halls of her high school as first period began. As she ran she had to keep readjusting her jeans as they kept falling down her hips.

"I should've worn a belt today," Emily said out loud as she rounded a corner and slammed headlong into Helena Jones, Hall Monitor and party killer extraordinaire.

"You should also watch where your going too," Helena said.

Helena was a skinny girl, with a sharp mind and a flair for rule enforcement. She had volunteered to be hall monitor after the last one had quit after being rescued out of a locker by the fire department with the jaws of life. Despite her small stature she made sure that hallway law was enforced.

"So why the rush Emily?" Helena said peering through her thick rimmed glasses.

"I'm late and you're making me even more late so if you don't mind.." Emily tried to push her way past Helena but Helena grabbed Emily's shoulder. Helena's fingers palmed Emily's shoulder like a basketball. That's weird, I didn't know Helena had such big hands before, Emily thought.

"Hold it right there short stuff."

"Short stuff, what do you mean I'm the same height as you."

"You may want to check again. Did you forget your heels this morning?"

Emily looked up into Helena's glasses and pondered what Helena just said. It then hit her though like lightning. She had to look up at Helena. That had never happened before.

"Also were you in such a rush Em that you just grabbed the first clothes you saw? Looks like someone is wearing the daddy pants today." Helena smiled and laughed.

The cuffs of Emily's dreams were now touching the ground and Emily found herself grabbing the belt line and pulling it up more and more frequently. Emily tried to take a step around Helena when she felt her shoe come loose. She tripped over the loose sneaker and fell hard onto the linoleum floor of the hallway.

"Are you alright?" Helena asked.

"I'm fine I'm just....not feeling...ah!" Emily let out a sharp squeal of pain.

"What's the matter?"

"My ears, they hurt." Emily began grabbing for her earrings which were still attached to her lobes. The metal felt like it was growing and it was putting considerable pressure. Emily hurriedly got them out and threw them on the floor. It was then that Helena began to notice something odd. As Emily sat there grasping desperately at her ears she noticed that Emily appeared to be melting. As she clawed at the clasps the sweatshirt Emily wore became baggier and the sleeves became longer on Emily's small frame.

"Do you need the nurse?" Helena asked as she bent down next to Emily.

"I don't know." Emily said.

"Let me help you up." Helena grabbed Emily and brought her to her feet. As she did Emily's jeans slid off her hips and landed in a pool on the floor between her legs. Her panties were hanging loosely around her hips as if one sudden shake would send them falling down her slim legs like a leaf falling from a tree.

"I don't know what's wrong with me." Emily said.

"I'll help you."
