If anything Maria looked better than her picture. Although still much curvier than Lisa, Maria wasn't badly overweight like her picture; perhaps the camera had added a few pounds. She was only slightly shorter than Lisa and although she was 13 years older than Lisa she was still very pretty. Maria was wearing what looked like old, blue, mechanic's overalls that somehow still strained to contain her curves. Lisa had always wondered what being that curvy would be like, but had always stuck to her athletic build. Now she would have curves for days.
“¡Tú debes ser Lisa, no se como agradecerte por lo que estás haciendo por mi!” Maria said excitedly as she walked over to embrace Lisa. Lisa looked at Maria confusedly, “I don't understand, I'm sorry.”
“I is berry thanchu,” Maria tried to explain with her limited English. Lisa understood that she was trying to say she was grateful and smiled as the two of them hugged again. A translator soon came in and made things easier. The conversation was rather hurried since Maria (or rather Lisa in Maria's body) had to go back to her job soon. Maria explained that she had just started working at a factory close by. Since she had only just started it wouldn’t look out of place if the new Maria didn’t know the job very well. She had sat down with the nonprofit when they had first spoken of this program and they had a file they would hand to Lisa once the transfer was done with details on her new life.
Lisa felt bad that the paperwork she filled out didn’t go into much detail about her life, but she figured the new Lisa would have an easier time navigating things anyways. Maria thank her several more times in her thick accent and each time it made Lisa's stomach twirl. She was scared of all that she was about to lose, her whole life in fact, but she could tell how much this would mean for Maria.
Soon Maria was guided out of the room and Lisa was instructed to undress and sit in what looked like a dentist's chair as electrodes were attached to her. She was instructed to count down from ten.
