"Are you getting enough food? Are you only eating deep-freeze food? You look rather thin." Natalie asked as she was cooking a couple of pancakes.
"Yes, mom, no mom. And my friends say otherwise." Paige answered as she got her second plate.
Paige lived in the dorms for the rest of the year, but in the summer she would spend her time at home. Right now, her mother was trying to overfeed her again. How she could be so embarrassing sometimes. They talked on the phone during the rest of the year and every time Paige had to promise her mother she would do her best and wouldn't get into any trouble. She was so glad her friends weren't around to listen to those calls, and especially to hear about that part not getting into any trouble. Paige got into trouble many times in the past, and lucky for her, her mom hadn't found out.
Sometimes she just wished she could be like her mom. She didn't had to get through college, instead she met dad and they married shortly after. Her mom didn't have time to study after they were all born, especially after dad had died. So lucky, Paige thought.
"I think I'll pass on a next round mom. I'll go to my room for now." Paige said shoving the plate away.
Her mother looked at her as she went round the corner. She was the oldest, but also the one she worried the most about.
