Boys tend to grow to a maximum that falls into three groups 7-9 feet Betas, 11-13 feet Alphas, 15-18 feet Megas. Anyone shorter than 7 feet is an Omega. None of these are hard cut offs for groups, a few inches up to half a foot is seen as being OK. These are social groups the boys have organized themselves into and not official groups Boys that are not in one of these groups just haven't reached their potential, which is different from boy to boy, each one has a maximum height that puts them in one of the groups, and their paranormal size potential isn't necessarily determined by their initial or biological potential, although it seems to help. Anyone under 7 feet is an Omega although since there aren't hard cut offs anyone under 6'6" is definitely an Omega. Absolutely no one can be over 18'6". There are no 20 foot plus giants that stomp on the school or become bigger than the planet. The taller the height, the fewer boys of that height there are. The boys are generally friendly, though they are very competitive, and can be nasty and snobbish when it comes to being in a group. They aren't above humiliation either, especially with the boys that are on sports teams. This is slow growth, and remember the boys still are growing normally. If the boys that intially find the artifact are freshmen, there's four years to spread the growth over. Getting fat is not growth the artifact causes.
