"Ummm. Excuse me? Can I make an order?" Said the woman. Eliza startled by her. Paniked a bit but regain her composure.
Oh sorry mam! So what will you order?" Said Eliza as she smiled. The woman wore a black tank top that revealed her cleavage and a long white skirt with slip on shoes. She had a lot of bags so Eliza thought she must have gown shopping. Her belly was quite large but seemed perfectly shape for the woman as she was a bit taller than Eliza. She had short auburn hair and red glasses.
"Sorry if I startled you. I'll have the double cheeseburger and bottle water." Said the woman.
"That'll be 9.95 mam!" Eliza said as the woman gave her a 10. Eliza began taking the burger out of the fridge and handed the woman her change and bottle of water. It didn't take long to cook. Eliza noticed the woman kept rubbing her belly. Curious, she started a converation.
"Just how far are you mam?" Eliza asked as she placed the patty on the bun. Then the secret sauce, chesse and the other bun.
"Oh I'm quite overdue. Heavy one she is. I'd have to be about 10 months." She said as she giggled and began eating her sandwich.
"Wow! You should be in a hospital by now! Why are you shopping?" Eliza said as she leaned in her elbows on the counter.
"Oh don't worry. I have friends who will meet me here." Said the woman as she was half way done with her sandwich. Then she noticed Eliza's amulet dangling from her neck.
"Oh! That is such a nice necklace! Who gave it to you? Your boyfriend?" The woman said as she held the amulet with her left hand. Putting her face closer to inspect it.
"I don't have a boyfriend mam. Just bought it recently from some old guy who was sidewalk vending. Sorry but it was quite weird as he as he disappeared after I got on the bus and on my way here." Eliza said. She got a good glimpse of the woman'a cleavage.
"Oh thats to bad I wanted to get one." The woman said as she frowned.
"Yeah I know but interesting he said that its magical." Eliza said. "Transfers something even he doesn't know what." As she shrugges her shoulders. The woman giggled.
"I wonder what. Hey looks like you can press the amulet. Wanna see what happens?" The woman said looking at Eliza.
"Go ahead. I wanna see what this magic is!" Eliza said as the woman pressed it.
CLICK!
The X mark seemed to light up as the gems at its side flared up as well but within moments it died down with one if the 8 gemstones glowing.
"Oh that must be the magic. I wonder if it runs out if magic?" She giggled as her cellphone rung. Taking it from her purse, she checked her text message and placed her cellphone back.
"I gotta go. My friends are waiting for me at the parking lot. Nice meeting you!" Said the woman as she gathered her things and waves good bye to Eliza.
"Thanks! Hope to see you again!" Eliza said as she waved back. She slowly sat on her stool.
"Nice woman. Guess its just you and me now!" Said Eliza as she stroked her belly. It covered a fourth of her legs as she adjust her bra since it was biting into her shoulders. Her pants still a bit loose. Eliza leaned on her hand like that pose of the thinking man as she watched people pass her by. Her other hand on top of her belly as her baby kicked.
