Tex grinned madly. "You really do have affections for him." Bemused, he said.
"Shut up..." Blushing, you said. "We're just friends... for now."
"Of course you are." Grinning, Tex said. Seeing your face harden, he turned serious. "No, Jack is not a chaotic scientist but he is not one to take lightly either. James is fully trained in the art and Matt will become one so long as nothing changes to prevent it."
"What do you mean? Wincing, you asked.
"It's a bit complicated." Sighing, Tex replied. "Also, a bit over my head so I'll let father explain that one to you when the time is right."
"You don't know?" Curious, you asked.
"My spark first ignited approximately a fortnight prior to this date." Slowly, Tex explained. "I had returned home early due to feeling ill and was excused from school." You nodded, indicating Tex to continue. "As you might imagine, my reaction was similar to your own. With father's protective nature, I was surprised he did not immediately come running to investigate." He sighed. "I had foolishly decided to keep the discovery of my new found powers a secret but quickly found that they were unstable at best. I needed training and turned to our father."
"What happened?" Whispering, I demanded.
"At first I thought he was going to panic then he showed me his own spark." Frowning, Tex replied. "Besides him, you are the only other individual aware of this, Jessica. My only hope is that father will not be displeased that I revealed our secret."
