Tears forming, Mat nodded. "He'll 'kill' me if he finds out I have it." whimpering, he said. "He said I wasn't ready, that I would have to wait...."
You sighed, rolling your eyes, knowing Mat did not like to have to wait for anything but you never guessed he would resort to 'borrowing' from someone. "Who did you take this from?" patiently, you asked. "I'll take it back to him myself and try my best to calm him down for you."
Mat quickly shook his head. "You- You'll be mad at me..." his lips quivering, he replied. "I'll put it back, just let me have it, please!"
Now you were very concerned at Mat seemed really frightened. "Who did you take this from!?" firmly, you demanded. "Mat, I can't help you until you tell me!"
Mat looked down, as he always did when trying to make a decision, then turned back to you. "Okay, I took the book from..."
