Samus knew, in the back of her mind, that it would come to this. She knew that there wouldn't be anyone waiting for her, that no one would listen, that nobody would understand what she had saved them from. The Federation had marched willingly into their own demise, though luckily Samus was there to stop them in their madness. She had eliminated the threat of the X-Parasites from the Galactic Federation's cruel experimentations and, more importantly, the galaxy as a whole. Unfortunately, now she needed to eliminate the threat to herself, that threat being the very organization she had originally set out to protect.
A Galactic Federation Anhur-Class Patrol ship zeroed in on Samus' location. Adam, her on-board computer AI, ran statistical analysis and provided combat suggestions, but Samus paid it no mind. She was still used to piloting her gunship manually, and so she directed her thrusters in a way that would lead the Federation's beam cannons astray.
