Midna, unable to repair the Sol at this time, requests to have the object so she may take it with her and possibly diagnose it further in private. Being the princess, she easily gains this priviledge. She takes the sol into her arms and carries it back to her chambers, refusing to allow anyone to help her.
The reason for this behavior is because she doesn't wish that her people be worried again in such a time of peace. In her room she closed the door and set the Sol on a table in her room, examining it closely. She feels rather uncomfortable in its presence, as if she is sensing its abnormal energies.
The Sol shook once, then twice, and Midna backed away should there be a power surge. She had seen one old shaman get killed from being too close to one, and didn't want to risk that here.
The Sol shook again and grew brighter, then a ray shot out of it and hit Midna square in the stomach. she felt the wind get knocked out of her and crumpled to the ground. Though it didn't hurt her too bad, she was still shaken and thought she should try to be much more careful with it in the future.
