Aubrey is blissfully unaware of changes to her ...

"Wow, Jess, you were right." Aubrey said, having taken a bite of cake. "This is really good."

"It's from Leonardo's." Jessica replied. "They make the best desserts."

They were celebrating coworker Jenna's birthday, and in addition to some Leonardo's cakes, the bosses had a catered lunch brought in. They were good about remembering birthdays.

"I'm stuffed." Jenna said. "I'm going to fall asleep at my desk."

"I may not fit at mine anymore." Jessica said. "I've got to go on a diet."

"Not me." Aubrey said, as she took another bite. "Life's too short to miss out on cake like this."

"It's not like you have to worry anyway." Jenna said. "You're so skinny."

"I'm just lucky, I guess." Aubrey replied. "I've never really had to watch my weight."

Had Aubrey been watching her weight over her three months of employment, she would have noticed a definite upward trend. She had always fluctuated some; a few pounds here or there were expected. But she had slowly gained ten pounds since taking the new job, putting her at 135 pounds, and she hadn't dropped a pound in the last two months, she had only added.
