John ran after the girl, who sprinted lightly between the trees. John had trouble keeping up, his heavy armor weighing him down, leaving deep footprints in his wake. He did his best to keep his eyes on her, yelling at her to stop, but she seemed to ignore him, giving him mischievous glances as she lead him on. Eventually he lost sight of her as she disappeared into the darkness, leaving John panting as he tried to catch his breath. "Little brat." he cursed to himself, wondering what he problem was.
It was then he looked at his surroundings and realized he had no idea where he was. He couldn't see the campfire anymore, all he could see was the trees and the haze of mist drifting around. 'Crap.' he thought, thinking that maybe he should have let woken the others before heading out. 'Wait, no problem, I can just backtrack' he thought looking behind him and taking a few steps, before looking around again, trying to figure out which way he had come. He couldn't even see his footprints in the darkness. Finally he picked a direction and walked, figuring he would eventually see something to jog his memory. Unfortunately nothing did. Just as he was about to turn around and try a different direction, he heard a noise. The familiar giggle of that little girl. Seriously, what was she playing at.
John turned toward where the laugh had come from, following it and looking out for the white dress, which he was sure would be easy to spot. Instead, he walked out of the trees and saw in front of him...
