Lizzie entered the off-campus house she shared with three other girls. The other three had all gone home for the weekend, but Lizzie couldn't afford to go every weekend. Not that it mattered; it was May, and the school year was almost over. Soon, Lizzie would be heading home for summer break. And, when her friends went home for the weekend, she got to enjoy having the whole house to herself.
Today was Friday. It was the middle of the afternoon, Lizzie was finished with classes for the week, and she wanted to enjoy her time by herself.
Lizzie quickly toured the house, making certain all of her housemates had, indeed, gone home for the weekend. Perfect.
Lizzie quickly took off her clothes. She walked into the back yard, sat down on a deck chair, and spent a little time sunbathing.
When she thought enough time had passed, Lizzie got out of her chair and went back to the house. She tried the back door, which she knew wasn't going to open. She locked it when she went outside.
Having gone through the motions, Lizzie went around to the front of the house, knowing this door was locked, too.
When she had played her role, and demonstrated to anyone who might be watching that her front and back door were both locked, Lizzie looked around.
She was going to have to get a spare key from the rental office, five blocks away, which meant a total walk of ten blocks. She smiled in anticipation.
