You kept running as fast as you could. The thieves were not far behind you. As you turn a corner, you immediately duck into an alleyway. Luckily, the thieves didn't notice and run past you. You then turn back and head in the opposite direction. You found some bushes and lay low for about 10 minutes before surfacing again. You immediately head back to your house.
When you get there, you find Mikki's body on the stairs, reaching out to the wall so that she didn't lose balance. You wait until she reaches the bottom and then take her hand. She is startled at first because she didn't know you were there, but then lets you take her hand. She runs her hand along your skin until she reaches your face. She then brings her other hand up and rests them on your cheeks. She takes and feel at your face, making sure that it's really you.
