It was all coming together so very perfectly. A heist of an experimental power source here, some grand larceny there, and Dr. Drakken's latest and greatest invention was ready for its horrific unveiling on an unsuspecting world. The self-proclaimed evil genius connected the final power cord and was rewarded by the hum of high voltage and the devices cooling system as it sprung to life.
"Buhahahaha!" cackled Drakken wildly as his machine sprung to life. "Now with my greatest creation complete, it will be mere child's play to bring the world's governments to heel at my feet. Soon, the whole planet will know the genius of Dr. Drakken!"
"Yeah, yeah ,yeah. The leaders of the free world will blah blah blah.." cut in a woman wearing a green and black catsuit. "Look, I've probably heard this speech hundreds of times, could you just explain your plan already."
"A true villain observes proper etiquette, Shego. The gloating and monologue are just good manners, but if you insist. I have developed a device that can uses a miniature singularity as a power source for a massive..."
The self proclaimed genius did not get a chance to finish his sentence, as the door to his secret lair was flung open, and a group of people entered.
"All right people, listen up!" came an authoritative voice. "The Middleton Science Museum lent us this warehouse, and we have exactly three days to turn this place into a science fair. Let's MOVE people!"
Teenagers poured into the facility, carrying in tables and chairs along with them. Among them was Kim Possible, the long time foil and primary foe of Drakken. Panic consumed the villain who had to bite back a scream of rage as he ducked into the shadows.
A group of high school students walking into his secret lair had not been part of his plan, leaving Dr. Drakken's creation exposed. The villain and his accomplice had to move quickly and hide themselves. Once they had hunkered down behind a large piece of equipment, a very irrate Shego turned to him with a quiet snarl.
"Why weren't you running regular checks to make sure we wouldn't be discovered!" Shego whispered through grit teeth.
"They haven't used this place in years!" Drakken bit back. "How was I supposed to know that they would lend Kim Possible's class the building? I only picked this place so I could splice into the power grid that the museum uses."
"Well, now we're screwed. There's no way we can follow through with the plan without them noticing."
"We don't have to, Shego," Drakken answered. "This was a storage warehouse for old exhibits. They won't think twice about my machine, and we just have to wait for the end of their little fair and things we can get back on track. Just so long as no one tampers with something vital from my machi..."
"Hey, Mr Barkin! I found an outlet for the strip lighting!" called a short-haired blond boy in a hockey jersey. He yanked a plug form the wall, not knowing that it was the only thing keeping the core stable.
"Oh, phooey!" Drakken cried as alarms began to blare. Startling all those present. It was the last audible sentence spoken before the loud blast of air, and the singularity flared up and expired, sending those gathered to the floor. From the temporary vortex that had formed, a small object appeared, before it faded from existence.
