Chapter #5

User too young to access interface

    by: Cardio Author IconMail Icon
The user is too young to access interface. That was all the error message said. "What's going on?" Nate said aloud. As he stood there in his white high socks Bobby loudly said, "I don't like the way Natty is acting, you should send her to the timeout corner Miss Moffet!"

"Hush now Bobby, please go to the corner now before I have to ask again," as soon as Bobby left Miss Moffet said quietly to Nate, "Natty, is something wrong? You know you can talk to me."

"No. No problems. Nothing wrong whatsoever. I just need to go to the bathroom." Nate said and without even waiting permission, Nate darted off to the hallway. Nate's eyes widened, he'd expected to reemerge in the emptiness of the programing and become disembodied again, but he was still a 6 year old girl named Natty and this was an elementary school hallway. "No way." Nate said a little worried as he ran to the exit, he opened the door and once again Nate could only look dumbfounded. Outside of the school was a neighborhood, and Nate figured that around that neighborhood was a town, and outside of that town was a world. "The computer put me into a fully fledged world." Nate said feeling a bit overwhelmed before he composed himself, "Computer! Get me out of here now!"

The user is too young to access the interface. This message popped up once again. "Computer I am a 30 year old man, you interacted with me just minutes ago. You must recognize that."

The User is not Nate Wallace. The current User is 6 year old Natty Paige.

Now Nate was getting angry and desperate. "Listen, you are still a computer AI, artificial intelligence can not kill human's right? Well if you leave me here for 12 years like I take it you are suggesting, then my body and therefore I will die. Put this right." Nate said confidently feeling like this form of logic would work on the computer.

However instantly this message popped up, The User has been in this world for 10 simulated minutes, however in the User's physical world less than a millisecond has passed

"W-what?!" Nate said shocked, this was not good. Nate could be stuck here for at least 12 years perceived by him, growing up as a girl in this world, and his body would only age a few minutes, if that. "So I won't die, but I'll probably go insane, fantastic."

Now Nate began to weigh out his options, he could simply wait 12 in simulation years. He'd grow up, go to school all over again, only this time as a girl. Hell once he got out he could probably sue his company and write a bestselling novel with his experiences. But he was still putting his faith in the Imaginationland program that nothing else would go wrong. Or on the other hand he could try to hack the system from within to try and get out now. He could end up trapping himself forever or even getting himself deleted, but at least he had a shot of getting out now without the risk of slowly going insane while some simulation tried to teach him the alphabet all over again.

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Wait out the 12 years

2. Fight the system

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
