You open her door and see your daughter crying. You rush over to her bedside and give her a hug.
"Susan! Its okay honey, I'm here. Everything is going to be fine."
You release her and she pulls away and stops crying.
"Now sweetie" you say, "What is the matter? You can tell me."
"Oh Daddy" she says trying to hold back tears, "I just woke up right now and I was going to call for Mommy to get me a glass of water, and then I remember she was gone, and I...", she starts crying again.
"Now now" you say as you hug her again, "It's alright. I miss her too. I know its hard sweetie, but you know if she were here she wouldn't want you losing any sleep."
She stops crying again. "I'm sorry, Daddy. I just miss Mommy so much. I think about her all the time and I just miss her so much. I see other girls playing with their mommies and it hurts that I don't have a mommy to play with anymore."
"I know honey", you say, "I wish there was something I could do."
She looks up at you, with a glimmer of hope in her eyes.
