Astrid was out with Stormfly, working on her flying. She knew that they'd never be as fast as a Nightfury, but that didn't mean they had to stop competing. Besides, she knew how Snotlout would be, if he ever thought he was the better flier.
She snorted at the idea, it was the kind of thing he'd claim, but all the riders were used to his bluster.
She clung tight to the dragon's neck as they whistled over the sea. Inches above the water, she glanced backwards spotting the wake they made as they went.
She spotted something from the corner of her eye. In a flash, Ruffnut burst from the treeline, "Astrid... Astrid... help!"
She waved wildly until, Astrid circled around and landed.
Astrid had never heard Ruff call for help before or Tuff, although it was more down to stupidity....
But it was enough to pique her interest. She stroked Stormfly's neck and jumped down.
Ruff was breathing heavily, and her cleavage was drawing even Astrid's eyes as it peeked between the loose strings of her top.
"What's up, Ruff?"
"That's the problem...." she answered panic filling her voice.
"I'm not Ruff... I'm Tuffnut."
"I'm not playing this game, Ruff." Astrid snapped angrily. She felt a degree of jealousy over Ruff's freedom. As a tomboy, Astrid had to fight for her place in the village. To not just be seen as a future bride... a wife for the next chief. Whereas Ruff and Tuff, were just Ruff and Tuff.
Ruff punched her on the arm.
"Stop it." she snapped again. She made an effort not to rub her upper arm. It had hurt more than she liked.
"Gah... I even punch like a girl now." she pouted.
"Tuff...." Astrid finally whispered, not sure what the joke was.
"Yeah.... That's what I've been saying...." she gestured to her own body.
