Chapter #6Invite him over by: Wasp Tails was reclining at home, a Dreamcast controller on his chest, as he calmly watched the credits for 'Crazy Taxi'. All in all, he hadn't done a lot today, but every Freedom Fighter needed downtime, right?
Things were looking up at the moment. Eggman had been defeated once and for all, and captured. Sonic had finally proposed to Sally, and the wedding had gone off without a villainous interruption for once. They had managed to put a stop to their other enemies as well. Mammoth Mogul had been stripped of his Chaos Emerald and left powerless. Naugus was trapped in the void once more. The Dark Egg Legion had been missing since Eggman's defeat. Miles and the Suppression Squad had informed them that they wanted nothing to do with Mobius, and shut themselves off from Freedom Fighters. They had fought Scourge and the Destructix again, but Fiona was missing from their ranks. Tails had enquired about her, and Scourge had claimed to have killed her. Tails snapped, and almost killed the hedgehog, leaving him comatose, until the other members of the team informed him that Scourge was lying, and Fiona just left them.
Tails hadn't done a lot of mission work since then. He was worried about the more violent side of him that had come to the surface when he fought Scourge, and he was trying to Fiona. True, she probably wouldn't appreciate it, but he had to know if she was alright. At the moment he thought this, the phone rang. He reached over, and pressed the speaker button.
"Hello? Who's there?" He asked.
"Hi Tails." Came the soft, seductive voice from the other end.
"F-Fiona?!"
"That's me."
"H-how did you get this number? What do you want from me? Where are you?"
"To your fist question, not telling. To your third, I'm at home, in Empire City. I moved here, completed my medical training, and started a new life as a doctor, where my past can't catch up with me. For your second, well, I'm bored, and lonely, and, I thought, maybe you could come over?" Fiona asked. Normally, Tails would have noted that her forlorn, pleading tone sound more than a little fake, but this was Fiona Fox, the girl of his dreams, inviting him into her home, having told him that she had reformed. He was too thrilled to care.
"S-s-sure!"
"Thanks, sweetie. I'll meet you by the fountain in the main square, and then we'll go back to my place, where we can talk in private. Sound good?"
"S-sounds great!" Tails stuttered, looking at his clock. It was 4:53 PM. "I'll be there by half past five."
"Okay then. See you soon." Fiona said, hanging up, leaving Tails to ponder to himself.
"Oh man, what do I do? Can I just show up? Should I dress differently? No, I don't want to be too forward! Would she like some flowers? No, she's not that sort of girl. Should I tell the others? I'd better ask her about that first..." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
