Your stomach had flattened by now, and your mana was basically at your usual maximum. Of course Velox Digestum was still running, but that was because it only shut off when there was no food and no mana left. This had to end both fast and efficient, which meant wasteful spells like fireball were out.
You threw yourself to the ground to dodge the kitten’s second clumsy attack and had an idea as you saw their foot paws on the rough, uneven cave floor. With a word of magic you made cracks open and shut in the rocks that the kittens stood on, trapping one of each of their foot paws in 6 inches of deep earth.
It had been intended to trap them, but your closest assailant lost her balance. A wide grin covers your face as the kitten falls into your mouth while the Velox Digestum still ran. You swallowed hurriedly, feeling the momentum of the confrontation finally swinging your way as you finish devouring her.
With powerful mana flooding through you again you blast the remaining three cat girls with your magic, using raw force to deal damage that incapacitated them. You smiled with grim victory, as the battle had been much too close and had taken far too long. The question was what to do with them now that they were all knocked out, utterly incapable of resisting you.
The village’s request only wanted the threat removed, and using certain slave magic you could reduce the cat girls to reasonably docile pets. But that would take days of work and they would always remember the hateful girl who ate half the family and enslaved the others... At least you wouldn’t have killing what amounted to prisoners on your conscience.
A more obvious solution would be to just eat them all. The threat would be permanently gone, it wouldn’t take too long and would even advance your Gastromancy! After all, your bottleneck is your twig like frame. Due to Velox Digestum’s second major drawback you wouldn’t gain an ounce from the two kittens you’d already digested... but if you let nature take its course the rest of the family could help you thicken substantially. Surely it wouldn’t make you a monster to make what clearly was the rational choice?
