Chapter #4Sam does it himself by: _H_ “…No.”
Sam sighed. Maybe he really should heed the cabbie’s warning…?
…is something a coward would say. He traveled all the way out here to meet some giants, and there was no way he was backing out at the finish line.
“Is there any other form of transit here? Hell, even a bike would do.”
The cabbie just looked at Sam in shock. Whether it was for his bravery or his stupidly, he wasn’t really sure. The cabbie groaned and motioned Sam out of the car.
“Alright, if you really intend on doing this, there’s an electric scooter shop a little over to the right, against the wall. If they ask for a referral, just tell ‘em Dave sent ya and give ‘em this.”
He quickly scribbled something down onto a piece of paper and handed it to Sam.
“Oh, uh, thanks. Do you know how much it costs or..”
“For you, kid, it’s on the house. Just don’t say I didn’t warn ya…”
And with that, he drove away to another pickup location. While any sane person would probably take the hint and go somewhere safe, Sam was no sane person. With his newfound determination, he began his march towards the scooter shop.
Off in the distance, he saw the gigantic blonde chatting with some of her equally sized friends. She didn’t seem to be going anywhere some time soon, so Sam hoped she’d stick around long enough for him to talk to her. Though considering this club was mixed sized, he was a bit surprised to see not many people near his size. Guess they were just at the bar or in some other designated area?
After another minute of walking, he reached what he assumed to be the scooter shop. Well, less of a shop and more a bunch of scooters lined up against a wall. The only person there was an older man in his mid 50s.
“Eh? Whaddaya want kid?”
Sam was a bit annoyed that everyone was calling him ‘kid’ despite being in his 20s, but he just put it off to the side.
“Uh, Dave sent me? I was looking for a scooter and he told me to give this to you.”
The man just sighed and took the paper.
“Damn that Dave… one of these days he’s gonna have to pay off that tab of his…”
He motioned to the scooters.
“Just take one of em’. It’s fuel’ll probably last ya a day or so, max speed of 40mph.
So it really was that easy, huh? Sam just did as the man said and chose a white scooter off to the side.
“Well, best of luck out there.”
“Thanks..?”
Sam began driving away, a bit unnerved at everyone wishing him luck like he was going off to war. Surely nothing bad would happen, right?
Setting his sights on the massive blonde in the distance, Sam began his journey to talk to a giant(ess) for the first time.
Minutes passed, and he was still quite a distance from where he wanted to go. The scooter did its best to move quickly, but considering just how massive this club was, it would definitely take a while. Sam sighed. Maybe he should have listened to that cabbie after all. Even if he did reach the blonde, what are the odds someone as massive as her would even talk to him. He wasn’t too sure on the social structure between giants and normals, but considering the size difference he assumed it wasn’t very common to see them interact.
His train of thought was cut short when he felt a large rumble shake the ground. While deep in thought, he failed to realize the blonde and her friends already disappeared. In fact, he wasn’t exactly sure where he was either.
“Shit.”
He braked to a halt, and took a look around. He did end up making it near the bar area, but that also meant he was right in the path of most giants.
As if the universe heard his thoughts, a massive heel landed next to him and a shadow engulfed the surrounding area. Looking up, there was a pair of gigantic feminine legs surrounding him on both sides, with his view directly underneath this woman’s dress. Thankfully, she continued walking, her high heels clacking along the floor as light came back into your view. Whoever she was, she had a large red dress and brown hair.
Thankful that he just survived the encounter, Sam began to see why everyone warned him about driving by himself. Though at this point, it might be more dangerous to drive back…
While considering his options, Sam was unaware that someone spotted his tiny form on the floor… indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
