Stan had turned 30 a month ago and he and his new wife had returned from their honeymoon a week ago. They sometimes talked about having children after they were married, but they wanted to give it some time. Stan liked the idea of being a dad and Rebecca had dreamed of being a mom since she was a teen. While things were going well in his marriage, he still had a lousy, boring job that he didn’t really like.
Stan and Rebecca both had the day off work, so they decided to go down to the local flea market to see what was there; they had decided to shop separately to find things they wanted themselves. Stan looks around. “Hi,” a woman called out, Stan looked and saw her, “see anything you like?” “I’m just scouring around,” he said. The woman nods her head. Stan looks around and notices a strange looking coin. For some reason he was drawn to it. It had an image of pregnant man and woman. “Well, this is an interesting coin,” he thought to himself. “How much for this coin?” “Only 5 cents,” the woman said. Stan got a nickel out of his pocket and gave it to the woman. “Pleasure doing business with you.” Stan was kind of entranced by the coin. He took a long look at it. He thought that it was odd, yet kind of interesting. He put the coin in his pocket.
Stan meets back up with Rebecca. “Hey,” Rebecca greets, “Hey, sweetie,” Stan replies with a kiss on the cheek. “So, did you see anything you like,” Stan asked. “Not really,” Rebecca replied, “how about you?” Stan pulled the coin out of his pocket and showed it to her. “I got this weird looking coin,” he replied, “it was really cheap,” he continued as he showed it to her. “Hm,” Rebecca chuckled, “it is strange looking.”
Suddenly, a voice called in Stan’s head.
Flip the coin. Heads or Tails?
Stan gave the coin a toss and caught it in his hand. “Nice catch, honey,” Rebecca said.
