This choice: Treated like a baby full-time • Go Back... You sighed as you walked along the sidewalk to your home. You had just finished school and also gotten into trouble. A few guys in the school offered you a cigarette and you saw no harm in trying it. It tasted nasty and you made your mind to never try one again; however, it appeared the principal caught you. At the end of the day, your mother was called and you were afraid of what was going to await the door returning home.
One damn cigarette. It was causing so much trouble that wasn't worth even trying it.
You dropped your head and frowned. Today was going to suck. What was your mother going to do? Ground you? That was probably the worst she could do to you.
As you reached the door, you unlocked it with your keys and slowly moved in, peeping through the door. You wondered if you could get away by any means necessary but that possibility was already squashed as you saw your mother waiting for you.

"Hello Daniel..." your mother spoke in a calm but deterring voice.
You felt obligated to greet her back, knowing what was going to come. "Uh...hi mom. Look, let me explain. It's not as bad as it-"
"I don't want to hear it, Daniel. Just...sit down for a moment," she interrupted with a stern and strong voice. You immediately shut up and followed her orders, taking your seat onto a couch. Your mother followed through by sitting next to you and putting a hand to your knee.
"Sweetie, I am very disappointed in you. I thought i raised you better than to have you get influenced and try smoking..."
"It...It was only once! It actually tasted horrible so I promise you I won't try anything like it again!" you defended.
Your mother nodded but it appeared she was still upset and disappointed. "I know sweetie, but I've heard other sons say the same thing before and get themselves into more trouble. I refuse to let you go down the path of a drug lord and criminal!"
Your mouth opened in shock. "Mom...that's an extreme exaggeration. I'm sorry, okay? I won't ever do it again, I promise!"
Your mother sighed. "I know honey...I'm going to ensure that, actually..."
Your furrowed your eyebrows. Ensure?
Before you could utter another word, your mother leaned to the side of the couch and pulled up a bag of brand, white diapers.
"Um...what are those for?" you hesitated but asked with confusion.
"They're for you, honey. I'm going to raise you again into a proper young man who won't ever go down the wrong path in life." she answered, her eyes serious.
Your eyes widened and you gaped at her with incredulous. You then chuckled, wondering if she was playing a cruel joke on you.
"Y-you're joking mom. I'm 16! You can't just diaper a teenager!" you argued.
"I can sweetheart. You must think I'm being unreasonable here, but I can't risk my baby boy going somewhere I'll end up regretting. After talking to your principal, she was also supportive of this arrangement."
You backed away and slowly shook your head. "No! This is ridiculous. You can't just go make some weird decision like that on your own! I wouldn't like to do this, but I'll call the cops on you if your serious about this!"
Your mother stared at your disapprovingly. She seemed ready for this kind of resistance from you it seems. On a nearby small table with a lamp laid a folded piece of paper. She took it, unfolded it, and then handed to you.
You snatched it away and read the contents, slowly turning white and moving into utter disbelief. This couldn't be real.
Dear Mrs. Jonathan,
As per the newly instated law that reduces risk of problematic and at-risk teenagers, you have been granted higher authority of guardianship to your son, Daniel Jonathan, for at least two years. During this period, Daniel will have limited rights regarding his well-being and any decision and responsibility will befall on you, the mother. Granted to you are the options to control your son's diet, physical well-being, and mental well-being in any environment.
Daniel's rights will be reinstated after two years automatically or early by parental request if deemed appropriate. A card will be provided with this letter proving to respective officials and authorities that you have necessary authority in your decisions against your son.
We hope the very best in your endeavor,
City of McGullen
Ah...that's right. This was put into law for about four years now. You haven't seen much of it being used and for the most part, forgot it ever existed! The program was apparently doing well as it had reduced potential problems about 30%.
You shakily removed the paper from your face and stared at the floor for a long time. You felt the paper being pulled away from your hand and replaced by a warm and petite hand, holding your hand.
You glanced up and saw your mother with a sad smile gazing at you. "Sweetie, don't hate me for this. I love you so much and I can't bear the thought of you being influenced by the bad things in life."
Your breathing became shallow and your throat began to dry up. You saw no other way out of this. Even if you ran away, your record would be already on file and the police would just bring you back home.
"W-what are you going to do...?"
Your mother curled her lips, clearly seeing the fear in your face. "Honey, I...there's other reasons for this too. Lately, you've been...avoiding me..."
"I...have?"
She nodded. "Yes...you're always locked in your room and it seems all I ever see you is for dinner and in the morning before you leave."
"Well, that's...not intentional, I promise!" you defended.
Your mother nodded. "It probably was me...but either way, it's only more of a reason that I decided to move forward with this."
"Oh god mom...I...I can't go to school in diapers!" | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
