The last two hours in the library were quiet with no one around, so John was able to get through his end of day paper work and read his book with no interruptions. John grabbed his messenger bag and his overcoat and headed out into the cool autumn air to wait for his bus.
Thankfully his bus came every 20 minutes or so and with the library closing on time he was able to casually walk to the stop. The cool air meant that his favorite season was coming. The reason he lives a good 20 minute bus ride away was because his place has the perfect little reading nook. His third story apartment looks out towards a forested section of the park and when it snows the window view is the perfect view for an afternoon reading space.
The bus arrived on time and John saw his bus crush sitting in the back of the bus where the seats face each other. John decided he wanted to watch his bus crush on the long way home. John headed to the back of the bus and sat down across from his bus crush, a tall young man with olive skin and slick jet black hair. He had a trim beard this month and was on his phone reading something. John had seen him several times on the bus before. He got on before John and gets off after John.
John took out his book and pretended to read but was actually soaking in every detail he could get.
"Oh, it's you!" said the bus crush looking up from his phone with surprise," I was actually hoping to run into you."
"Me?" John asked pointing toward his chest.
"Yeah, you," said the handsome stranger sliding a seat over so he was right across from John," "The name is Nico," said the stranger, extending his arm.
"John," he replied and shook Nico's hand," So why did you want to see me?"
"Cause you're cute and handsome," Nico said with a smile and leaned back in his seat.
John felt his face blush. Not only was his crush talking to him but he thought John was cute.
"Also I'm going to an event tomorrow night and thought it might be right up your alley," Nico explained.
