"So, it's an Angel Shikigami?" Ooizumi looked at his shikigami egg, its soft glow captivating his attention. Principal Yamamoto, intrigued, approached Ooizumi and asked, "How did you know?"
Takeda Ooizumi, still gazing at the ethereal egg in his hands, replied, "I could sense it. There's a calming presence, an aura of serenity. It feels like an angelic spirit."
Principal Yamamoto nodded thoughtfully. "Your intuition serves you well, Ooizumi. Angel Shikigami are newest shikigami that joined in this realm after...." the oldman pause for a bit before continue
"However, they possess unique abilities. And they are known for their protective nature and guidance. Seems you made a good choice, young Takeda. Maybe it's a destiny..."
As the students gathered in the shikigami room, each with their chosen shikigami eggs, the atmosphere pulsated with energy. Takeda Ooizumi could feel the presence of his Angel Shikigami resonating with his own spirit.
Principal Yamamoto addressed the students once more, "Now, as you embark on this journey, remember that your shikigami will be your companion and guide. Together, you will face challenges and triumphs. Cherish this bond and let it strengthen you in times of adversity."
Ooizumi, holding his Angel Shikigami egg close, felt a sense of purpose. The adventures at Ootomi were unfolding, and the mystical connection with his shikigami hinted at a destiny intertwined with forces beyond the ordinary.
The students, accompanied by their chosen shikigami eggs, began to part ways to their residences. Ooizumi also noticed his limousine awaiting him to go to the mansion, unless he received an invitation from Principal Yamamoto.
"Young Takeda, may I have some words with you?" Principal Yamamoto said.
Ooizumi, feeling a mix of curiosity and respect "Yes, sir" he nodded in acknowledgment.
"Good," Principal Yamamoto said, gesturing for Ooizumi to follow him. Together, they traversed the corridors of Ootomi, the prestigious institution that held both ancient traditions and modern education in harmony.
The principal's office was a serene space adorned with traditional Japanese artifacts and scrolls. As Ooizumi entered, he couldn't help but notice the air of wisdom that permeated the room.
Seated behind a polished wooden desk, Principal Yamamoto motioned for Ooizumi to take a seat. "I've observed your family lineage, and as you know, your grandfather and I were old friends since we studied at the Imperial Japanese Naval Academy."
Ooizumi, taking a seat and absorbing the weight of the connection between his family and the principal, nodded respectfully. "Yes, Principal Yamamoto. My grandfather often spoke highly of you and your friendship."
The principal's eyes gleamed with a nostalgic twinkle as he reminisced about the past. "Your grandfather and I shared a profound bond, forged through the trials of our youth. We faced many wars, especially in Midway and Solomon."
Principal Yamamoto paused, the gravity of those historical moments hanging in the air. "Now, let's talk about your journey at Ootomi. Your lineage is rich with the spirit of warriors, and I have great expectations for you, young Takeda, especially in these challenging times. You know what I mean, right?"
Ooizumi's brows furrowed slightly as he asked, "You mean the commoner?"
Principal Yamamoto, maintaining a serious expression, nodded. "Indeed, young Takeda. Because of that Gaijin Shogun and those Yanks, they forced us." He referred to Douglas MacArthur and the Americans. "They forced us to allow commoners into the schools, even bringing those burakumin (部落民) or those half-Gaijin blood into our prestigious school as well!"
Principal Yamamoto spoke with fury, convinced that commoners, especially burakumin, wouldn't be equal to him.
Ooizumi replied, "I understand your sentiment. I, too, believe that those commoners won't be equal to us."
"I had faith in you, young Takeda, that you will keep our school traditional and ensure those commoners couldn't stay in this school," Principal Yamamoto declared with a stern conviction.
Ooizumi, though he acknowledged the principal's expectations, couldn't shake a sense of conflict within himself. He respected tradition, but a part of him wondered if exclusivity based on social status was truly the path to greatness.
With a nod and a measured tone, Ooizumi replied, "I will do my best to uphold the traditions of Ootomi, Principal Yamamoto, and maintain the prestige of our school. With the honor and legacy of my family."
"Good, then I count on you, young Takeda," Principal Yamamoto affirmed with a firm nod. The gravity of his expectations hung in the air, and Ooizumi felt the weight of his duty to preserve the school's traditions.
As Ooizumi left the principal's office, his thoughts were a tempest of conflicting emotions. The responsibility entrusted to him felt like a double-edged sword, cutting through the ideals of equality and progress that were slowly gaining momentum in the world outside Ootomi's walls. Before he back to his mansion waiting for his first day at Ootomi...
