Gary was surprised, despite his earlier prediction Ash hadn't yet suggested they stop for a break. Even after a couple of hours walking he hadn't really started breathing any further heavily, a slight lack of confidence on Gary's part. They had decided to stop for a quick lunch before the final leg of the route, Gary reckoned they were now less than an hour off, and while not as hungry as knew Ash was, he could feel his own stomach growling, an uncomfortable sensation he wasn't use to.
They found a large clearing that was partially obscured from the sun, and sat down cross legged opposite one another. Lunch was nothing special, they'd both packed sandwiches and crisps. Gary knew this was to be his last home prepared food in a while, which couldn't help but make him feel homesick.
