The Falling Out

    by: GWriter Author IconMail Icon
As you walk with Celestia towards her sleeping chambers, the ridicule you received just moments ago echoes in your head. You feel yourself getting more and more frustrated with Celestia for humiliating you like that. For a moment, you wonder if you're just being petty, but then you remember all the other times Celestia's treated you like a child over the years. If this shit keeps up, you're gonna explode! When you finally get into the bedroom, Celestia tells you where the bathroom is, and where your clothes are, and you pay half-attention to her, which she quickly notices.

"Are you okay, sweetie?" she asks as you wince at that last word. "You seem a little quiet."

"Okay. This is my chance to tell her how you feel about her babying me all the time. All I have to do is calmly explain how uncomfortable it makes me. Screw that! I'n giving her a piece of my mind!"

"No, Celestia," you say. "I'm not okay."

The princess is taken aback by the fact that you addressed her by her name. "Okay, what's wrong?"

"What's wrong is that you embarrassed me in front of everyone less than five minutes ago!" you say, the sudden rise in your volume making Celestia flinch.

She realizes what she did wrong, but she tries to make it seem like it's not that big of a deal. "Well, maybe they're just jealous," she says.

"Oh, yeah. My friends would kill to have a princess doting on them 24/7." The sarcasm in that sentence is as clear as day.

"Why are you acting like this?" Celestia asks, flustered.

"Because I'm tired of you babying me all the time!" you say. "I'm seventeen years old! I'm going to college next year, and I still have you treating me like a toddler! Why do you always do that?"

Knowing that getting mad wouldn't solve anything, Celestia walk closer to you and puts a hand on your shoulder. "Because I'm your aunt, [your name], and I promised your parents that I'd look out for you."

"There's a difference between looking out for me and babying me," you say, pushing her hand away. "And this may be news to you, but you're not my real aunt!"

Those last few words strike Celestia like a freight train. Without taking another look at her, you walk towards the bedroom door. "I need some air," you say without looking back.

You go out to the castle's balcony, and look out into the distance, taking a long sigh. You finally let out all the anger and frustration that was building up inside you, so why to you still feel bad. All of a sudden, you hear somepony talk to you.

"What are you doing out here?" you hear. You turn around and see Queen Chrysalis walking towards you. She looked rather alluring at this time of night, but you push the thought out of your head.

"Nothing," you say. "Just thinking."

"It wouldn't have anything to do with Celestia, would it?" she asks.

"What makes you say that?" you ask.

"I just passed by her bedroom and heard sobbing coming from inside," she says.

Oh great. You made Celestia cry. Sure, you were mad with her, but you didn't mean to make her cry.

"I know Celestia," says Chrysalis, taking your silence as a confirmation. "She's a strong mare, so whatever you did to make her that upset must've been pretty harsh. She and I may have only just started to get along, but I actually feel sorry for her."

This surprises you. Could Chrysalis really have turned over a new leaf? Maybe she's just playing you. You could just ignore her, but maybe talking to her will make you feel better.

You have the following choices:

1. Tell her.

2. Keep quiet.
