"I'd rather not get into it..." you say bluntly.
"Alright then," Chrysalis says. "If you don't want to tell me, you don't want to tell me. Although, something tells me that you should stay out of Celestia's way for a while. She may be sad now, but she might be furious later. I hate to admit it, but we females are slaves to our own emotions. Just a word to the wise."
"Shit," you say. "You're right. I was supposed to be sharing a room with her for three whole weeks. That's just perfect." While you felt a little bad that you made your aunt cry, you said what needed to be said, and knowing how much Celestia trivializes your issues, it was the only way to get the point across. You have to crack some eggs to make an omelet, or is that a bad analogy?
"So, how long has this treaty between your hive and Equestria lasted so far?" you ask, changing the subject.
"About a week," the queen answers bluntly. "How long has Clelestia been your 'aunt'?"
"My whole life. She knew my parents, and she took me in when they died three years ago."
"So she's always been a big part of your life, then?"
"Pretty much... can we not talk about Celestia anymore, though?" you ask. Just talking about her reminded you of how mad you are with her.
"Fair enough," says the queen.
The conversation is getting more awkward with each passing second, but what choice do you have? You can't go back to Celestia's room with her still crying her eyes out, you have nothing to do for the day, and you don't want to stay out on the balcony by yourself. As awkward as talking to Chrysalis is, she's the only company you have right now.
You sigh. "I still need to figure out where I'm gonna sleep tonight."
"There's still a good portion of the day left," says Chrysalis. "I'm sure you'll figure something out."
"Heh, I guess you really are turning good," you chuckle.
"Don't remind me," the queen chuckles back. What does she say next? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
