"Let's start upstairs" and Amy led the way. The two made small talk until they entered the master bedroom. Amy closed the door and sat on the king size bed motioning for Sarah to join her. No sooner had Sarah sat, than Amy was back on her feet. "Now..." she began, looking at the thick plush carpet. Sarah followed her gaze and realised that it wasn't the carpet Amy was staring at. As if on cue, Amy knelt and began untying the lace of the converse on Sarah's right foot. She spoke the entire time. "...my husband is very particular and we have a rule... a barefoot house rule.... so I'm sorry, but before we go any further I'll have to take these.... you'll notice that everyone else is following the rule, and if I let you off we'd both be in trouble" Amy had removed the first shoe and unlaced the second already. Sarah realised that she might as well accept this as she wouldn't win an argument. As her shoe joined it's partner on the floor Sarah stood an made to leave the room... only to be pushed back down by Amy's hand on her chest. "What are you doing? You have my shoes" "I do... but you mustn't have been listening... I said barefoot house rules. That means no shoes or socks... and you seem to have socks on" "oh sorry, I'm just really shy about my feet. Can't I keep them on?" "Hmm... OK I'll make you a deal.... take your socks off now and show me your bare feet, and if they aren't pretty I'll give you some slippers" Amy's eyes lit up as she saw Sarah's expression soften. "Come on, socks off!" She said in her most commanding tone. Sarah's resistance was broken. She reached her index finger under the elastic of the sock adorning her right foot. She pulled it down ... and then off. She lifted her left foot within reach and repeated the action. She now had two bare feet and two empty socks. At Amy's insistence she handed them over.
