How does the Ice Queen become an iceberg?

Family Issues:
Weiss didn't have an especially good childhood. Her parents divorced, leaving Weiss with her neglectful father and her mother as an alcoholic wreck. This coupled with her constant loneliness and her father being stress-ridden, leads her to overeating as a coping mechanism to deal with stress.

Injury:
Weiss breaks her leg during a training session with Nora. Being bedridden and having such fattening meals constantly served to her results in Weiss being a lot larger by the time she's healed up.
