At an abandoned laboratory complex, Team JNPR was on a scout mission to see if there was anything that in the area that would be worthy to report. So far, other than either trying to sneak around or taking out some random Grimm that were wandering near the area it was a fairly quiet mission. At the moment Nora was checking another area by herself while humming a tune along the way.
Eventually, she arrived at a very open room filled with different slightly dust covered computers and some exposed wires. Overall it was surprisingly intact as Nora wandered around the area before randomly flipped a switch not realizing that there was some power left causing the room to light up.
And in the center of the room was a podium with a massive machine that honestly looked like a giant ray gun with multiple wires and pipes connected into it.
Nora then walked up to the podium and looked at the machine in wonder, "What the heck is that thing?"
But as she stares at the "Ray Gun" a portion of the ceiling gave way and managed to hit some controls that connected to the machine causing some steam and other sounds to emit from it.
Before Nora could react, the machine paints a small red laser light into her chest momentarily confusing her before it suddenly lets out an electric beam hitting her in the chest.
Normally, due to Nora's Semblance, she could've easily absorbed the electric energy and use it to enhance her strength. But this time though, the machine somehow caused Nora to shake uncontrollably as the energy coursed into her body before the old machine overloaded and explodes causing Nora to be thrown onto her back and lose her weapon, Magnhild.
Dazed, Nora slowly sat back up while not noticing her body was covered in electrical arcs from the beam. Unknown to her though, the machine had made an unexpected change to her Semblance where instead of enhancing her strength, it instead spread throughout her body causing Nora to gain an increase to her height initially but also absorb her now malfunctioning Scroll's energy giving Nora another two more inches resulting in her height going from originally 5'1" to now 5'3".
By the time she opened her eyes, the arcs had disappeared and only tiny remnant lights from the beam fell from her body.
"Oooh! Sparkly!"
Less than a few seconds later, the rest of her concerned Team burst into the room after hearing the explosion and immediately bombarded Nora with questions before she simply waved them off and answered to reassure them, "Relax~! It was just some electric beam thingy. My Semblance can absorb an electric current and make me stronger so it's nothing it can't handle."
As J(N)PR glance at what remained of the machine and back at her, they all collectively sighed before Jaune said, "...Alright, we get it but try to be more careful the next time we go out on a mission. Okay, Nora?"
Nora simply grinned as she gives a mock salute, "Aye aye fearless leader!"
The rest of her Team chuckled (a small smile and shaking his head in Ren's case) while Nora retrieved her weapon before Pyrrha commented that it looked like the room they are in was the only one left, meaning that they had likely finished exploring everything in the abandoned complex and that they should return to Beacon.
Everyone agreed but before they left the room Ren thought he noticed something was off about Nora, "Nora?"
"Yes, Ren?"
"I'm not sure if I'm wrong but, do you... look different?"
That question caused Jaune and Pyrrha to examine their orange hair team member as she checks herself and...
