You say in the passenger seat of your sister's car, fidgeting a bit with nervousness and excitement. This will be the first time you ever attended a public school.
"So, Jake, how does it feel to have a little freedom? To be on your own?" Jen casually asked, as she made a right turn and a large building with a large sign in the front came into view. East Central High. The school which your sister graduated from a year or two ago.
"I'm a bit anxious, but I'm excited." You responded earnestly, to which your sister gave a smile and a chuckle. The car pulled up to the curb just outside the main office, but before you could get out Jen started talking.
"There's so many things I wish I could tell you about high school, but we're here. So, just promise me that you'll keep out of trouble and you'll enjoy yourself." You nodded in response and with a smile, you start to get out.
She smiles back, saying, "Maybe add a few girls to that cute butt of yours, little bro!" She playfully smacks your backside, shuts the door, and drives off, leaving you standing in front of the school.
You walk into the office, your small backpack on slung over shoulder. Seeing a woman, who is probably not much older than your sister, behind the desk. She looks up with a professional smile.
"How may I help you, young man?"
You pull out a piece of paper and hand it to her, "Hi, I'm Jake Jugger. I just transferred in and I need my schedule."
"Why hello, Mr.Jugger. Here's your schedule." She gingerly hands you a piece of paper that has all of your classes and their times. "I heard we were having a exchange student, but for you to be Jen's little bro... If you need anything, just come up to the office and I'll be here. Oh, and my name's Sammantha, but you can call me Sammy." You saw the professional facade melt as she found out that you were related to your sister.
You thank her and head down the hallway towards your first class...
