Chapter #3

B.O.

    by: Unknown
"relax human, I'm no killer. Least not when I have a full stomach and empty bowels." The massive ape gave a low deep chuckle at his own brand of humor fixing you with a contemplative leer that unnerved you nearly as much as the ripe odor coming from his fur. "Except with hunters... can't stand hunters. No gun on you," The beast leaned in closer and began rifling through your pockets. To your utter horror his movement brought his left armpit dangerously close to your sensitive nose.

You clamped your nose shut taking small gulps of air through your mouth noting as you did so that despite being outside the air near your face had quickly become humid and foul. You couldn't even begin to imagine just how much body heat and sweat the creature had to be putting off to have such a profound effect. As if in response to your thought several beads of moisture dripped into your open mouth causing you to gag.

"No knife either. Say you're not some kind of scout for that hunting party I just tore away from are you?"

Having coughed away all your good air you made the mistake of taking a deep breath through your nose. His fur had a strong musky odor to it not unlike skunk but with a slightly fruity sickly sweet undercurrent that left you wondering if this was what durian smelled like. There was also a slightly eggy scent in the air, not emanating from his fur but definitely cloying to the air around him. For the first time you noticed the dull grey stripes on the crest of his head running down his ruddy back. You suddenly felt very certain you didn't want him to turn around.

"Y-you're a skunkape." You winced as the words blundered past your lips. It was beyond obvious and made you seem dim-witted and afraid. You were fairly certain you didn't want this beast thinking you were afraid.

"Ok, probably not a scout," the beast chuckled. "Still, can't have you telling those hunters which way I took off. I really am sorry about this but it appears that I'm going to have to gas you."

"W-WAIT PLEASE anything but..." The beast quickly clamped a paw over your mouth. You moaned as the scent of feet mixed with sewage and left out in the sun assaulted your nostrils.

"Look it's not like I want to do this to you. You should feel grateful that its not my father the clan chief or one of his hunters that stumbled upon you. They would mark you just for kicks and take great pains to keep you awake. Might even sacrifice you to the Behemoth. So unless you've got a place for me to hide..."
