You hold up the pinkish-orange fruit with glee and peel the outer skin off to examine the inside. The interior was reddish-purple in color and smelled similar to the wild flowers that grew on the far edges of the city. You begin by tasting the skin, which was chewy and somewhat squishy, but very tasty...sort of like a banana mixed with a cherry or strawberry.
Next you took a large bite out of the insides, which were almost gel-like in composition. The fruit was tangy, slightly sour as well as sweet and nutritious enough to survive on easily. All things considered, it looked like your new species of fruit would be perfect for what the guild needed.
After finishing off the rest of your lunch you gather up all of your research on the new plant and make sure its properly organized before heading to your leader's laboratory. On your way there you noticed a depressed looking woman with green skin and six blue eyes looking over a scroll of some kind. Next to to her on a bench were a stack on tomes that looked like they were piled up in a hurry with no thought to organization.
"I wonder what she's so sad about..." you say as you look down at your own research.
