Baruka grumbled as he looked into his shopping bag. Oversized shirts, sweatpants, and underwear better suited to handle his rounded out rear. "This is only temporary. A few weeks at most," he muttered to himself. "I'll be sure to pass these along to Yugi once he's..."
"I'm all done!" Yugi said, as he approached Baruka who sat on a bench in the mail, pale legs exposed to the conditioned air due to the cotton shorts Yugi lent him. The spikey-haired boy held up a shopping bag. "Need to pick up anything else?"
Baruka stuffed another grumble. "No, I'm fine," he said curtly.
"Are you...you know, still mad of this morning?" he asked.
Here's what Baruka wanted to say: "No, I'm mad because you're supposed to be well on your way to gorging yourself into a blob of pathetic fat! You're supposed to be getting too big and heavy and huge to do anything but watch as I snatch your Millennium Puzzle away from you! But all I've accomplished today is to embarrass myself and buy clothes to hid the blubber I put on trying to curse you!"
Here's what Baruka actually said: "...yes."
Yugi sighed and sat next him on the bench. "Again, I'm sorry. I of all people shouldn't be laughing at you because you... you know, packed on a few pounds. Hey, I gained a few myself!" He quickly pulled up his shirt, flashing Baruka his doughy gut briefly before tugging his shirt back down. "We're just bulking up, I guess!"
"We're both packing on lard, you nitwit. Not bulk. But you've given me an idea. I might have to put my diet on hold, but it's worthwhile to get you to willingly let yourself go and give in to the curse" Baruka thought to himself.
Baruka chuckled. "You know, I'm kinda glad that happened around you and not someone like Joey or Tristan. They would have never let it go! But sometimes boys bulk up! And you understand that, Yugi! I just packed on a few!" The white-haired boy, revolted at the idea but saw its utility, quickly flash Yugi his own rounder gut before yanking his skin-tight shirt back down over his dome of a belly.
Yugi smiled at Baruka. "So what did you buy?" he asked, gesturing to his shopping bag.
"Oh, some sweatpants and shirts."
The spikey-haired boy chuckled. He reached into his own shopping bag and pulled out a a few pairs of sweatpants of his own. "Much more forgiving on the waistline than jeans!"
"That is true, my friend!" Baruka leaned over and gave Yugi's belly a playful pat. "Now, what should we do next? There is a big food court in this mall, and I think two growing boys might be able to do some damage to it!"
"Oh, uh. I was actually going to see if there were any dualist around!" Yugi said, fishing his deck from his jacket pocket. "I thought I...I thought..."
Baruka looked thrilled. The Swell Of Mass card he placed in the deck earlier in the day was finally taking effect. "You thought what?"
Yuri stared blankly for a moment before turning his gaze to Baruka. "...food court?"
Baruka lifted himself from the bench, not caring that his shirt was riding up his pale flab again. "Yes! Food! This way!" Yugi obediently rose to his feet and Baruka led him on with a hand around the shorter boy's lovehandle.
"My treat, Yugi..."
