"Yugi, is that a card stuck to the outside of your window?"
Yugi turned and, sure enough, a card was wedged in the frame of one of his living room windows. He hooped off the couch, his new belly jiggling slightly as he did so, and walked over to the window where he plucked the card which was jammed in to the corner of the window. The young dualist flipped it over. The image on the card reminded him of the fat goblin on the Just Desserts card though this one had paler skin and some kind of ornate headdress on.
"The...Swell of Mass? Pharaoh, have you ever heard of this?" Yugi asked, still examining the card.
"Hmm, I cannot say that I have," Yami replied.
Yugi held the card up to his eyes and read the text. It was a Magic card with a continuous effect. "On your next draw phase, draw 2 cards. Then draw 3 cards on the draw phase after that. Keep continually increasing your draw size until this card is removed from the field."
"That's...an odd effect," mused Yami. "If your not careful, you can end up with your entire deck in your hands. Then you'll lose the next turn since you won't have any cards left to draw!"
"But it can be super useful if you just need to get a few cards out of your deck to win...like Exodus!" Yugi piped up. "I'll add this to my deck now!"
"Yugi, wait!" protested Yami as the boy rushed up the stairs, oblivious to his belly jostling about with ever step he took. "This could be dangerous! We should learn more about this and-"
"Pharaoh, relax!" Yugi replied. "If it ends up being more trouble than it's worth, we'll take it out." He dug his deck from the draw of his bedroom desk and slid the card into the stack.
"Yugi! Please!" But The Swell Of Mass found a new home in Yugi's deck. The moment the card was in, Yami was overcome by a strange sensation he could not put his finger on. "Yugi..." he said, "do you feel that? Something is not...quite right..."
"I don't feel anything," retorted Yugi. "A little hungry, but that's because I still have snacks downstairs!"
"Perhaps...perhaps you're right," Yami replied. "Still, that card uneases me..."
"If you're so scared of it..."
"I am not scared of it!" barked Yami.
"...we can invite Joey over for a game and give it a test drive. Otherwise, Nakamura Vs. Klein from the World Duel Monsters '99 Cup is replaying on TV next, and I want to make sure I have enough treats to get me through it!"
