I was surprised to find an eight year old girl in a Witchbloom school uniform standing in the doorway with a shy grin on her face. "Hi. I'm Hannah Harrison." Softly, she said. "I had to get special permission to come meet you."
I nodded in greeting. Hannah was the youngest sister of my pen pal, John Harrison who had been dubbed the 'pseudo witch' due to his science that mimics magic. It seemed that his family was full of surprises as Hannah was found to have surprisingly strong magic for her age.
"I would have appreciated a call first." Politely, I said. "I have classes in less than an hour."
Then, dean Elvira appeared behind Hannah. She was a tall and slender 34 year old woman with shoulder length dust blond hair and ocean blue eyes that seemed to dance in the dim light. She had been appointed dean of Starmage Academy by the head witch, Elvira Strange who had every trust in her abilities. Mr Tanaka, the former head of the school took the chance to retire from the job. Ryan still kept in contact with him, he viewed the man as the Father figure he never had.
"We apologize for the short notice, Mr Carlson." Kindly, she said. "However, due to the fact Hannah is the granddaughter of the head witch, the transfer had to be kept secret. The head witch, Elvira Strange has requested you be her body guard as you are a trusted friend of her grandson, John Harrison."
I inwardly moaned, hearing that as Elvira handed me Hannah's profile folder. She sensed my discomfort and lightly touched my shoulder. "Hannah has greatly matured over the last year." Assuring me, she said. "All you need to do is keep an eye on her during classes. She has a body guard detail for her dorm room."
I sighed but nodded. I was not exactly thrilled with watching over a little girl but this request came from the head witch herself. No was not an option in this case. "Who is her body guard while in her dorm? If I am to be an effective body guard, I need to know all of the facts."
Elvira smiled. "Her body guard while in her dorm is..."
