Ryan caught up with Jenny and the rest of his team at the lockers and briefly told them of his assignment. "This guy likes to open duels by showing off his technology." finishing his explanation, he said. "I have to show him this school is right for him, even though I'm not sure its right for me."
"You mean we gotta babysit some kid who loves to fire first?" Chon said with a rub of his bilndfold.
"What a pain." Amy sighed as she was painting her fingernails.
"Want me to keep an eye on him?" light killer aka John Doe said.
"How hard can this be?" Charlie said when he drew a picture of what Juan looked like with a box of crayons.
"Well I'll stand by you Ryan." Jenny said with a smile.
"Tough break, man." said a familiar voice behind him. "It sounds like this guy is a loose cannon on deck."
Ryan turned then smiled. "Alexander, how did you..." happy but confused, Ryan began.
"The witch council called me in to watch over one Christina Smith." serious, Alexander replied. "Apparently someone is after witches who have a male twin." frowning, he added, "This is serious, Ryan. Witch twins are very powerful. I know it first hand."
"John Harrison, AKA, the pseudo witch, is a fine example from witch twins." serious, Jenny said.
"Oh great. What's next?" wincing, Ryan asked.
"I suggest you simply observe this guy for a day and see how he holds himself before you do anything." calmly, John Doe said. "It's always best to know a person better before passing any judgement. I think I should know that better than anyone."
Ryan nodded, knowing John was right then paused, seeing Juan Smith walking towards us in the hall. Ryan recognized his face from the picture in his file. He was dressed in all black with a long white lab coat that reached down to his heavy black boots that made an odd echo sound with each step he took, as if the crowded hall were empty. As Juan walked passed, the entire group took in his attire and noticed he had dark goggle like glasses that hid his eyes from view and a carried a light limp which Ryan noticed.
"He was hurt before coming here." mussed Alexander. "Only, judging from what you told me, he's hiding it to save face."
"The question is, who hurt him and why?" wincing, Jenny said. "Could he have mouthed off to the wrong witch?"
Ryan shook his head. "No, I think he was protecting someone." almost whispering, he said. "Had he mouthed off, he'd be smiling, knowing he had got the better of a witch." he shook his head. "He's looking serious, too serious."
"His sister." his eyes narrowing, Alexander said.
He then vanished from sight, leaving Ryan and his team wondering.
