South toward the "water"

You head toward the water. As you walk you notice that, although it seemed to be a short stroll away, it's actually a lot farther than it looks. about halfway there you can hardly stand the scorching heat. You take off your jacket, your jeans and your shirt until you're down to just your shorts, but you're still extremely hot. By the time you get close to the water you're exhausted and delirious. You finally reach the water and 'gasp' in astonishment! you'd recognize it immediately. A magical illusion.

you groan! you have no idea what will happen if you plunge in, but you're to the point where anything is better than this heat.

You dive in

You have the following choices:

1. It's water, but it's also torture!

2. Oh no! Quicksand!
