I would say Gender....but no, what is their technology? It really matters!

Medieval: Elder scrolls is in the Medieval ages, these people are medieval. The character is a "Giant" and the Lilliputians are small, and both might have magic. Very balanced!

Modern: Lets go world war III on the giant with our guns and machinery. Yes I said World War III

Steampunk: The home of metal and innovations. There is just going to be random creations like mechanical spiders and giant mechanical birds that shoot metal.

The classic age: People with Puffy wigs, British people, and crappy rifles that take 10 seconds to reload...
