"Hood, come to my office- Now!"

George looked up at the intercom. "What does he want now?"

"Perhaps he's decided to fire you," said the officer behind him. "More space for me."

George looked over his shoulder. "The day he fires me, Lucas, is the day you and Thomas get married. He did propose to you on bent knees at the Christmas party last month."

The man blushed. "I thought that you promised to not bring that incident up."

"Then don't put that junk in the Punch next time- half the force was in D-Tox for a week," George said. "I'm surprised that they didn't can you."

The Captain smiled. "Good one. That's why I'm assigning you to the Theft and Robbery Division, specifically, Sargent Jason's squad."

"You mean that?"

"Yes, talent like yours shouldn't be wasted giving out tickets." The captain offered his hand.

"Thanks sir," George said, as he stood up, and shook it.

"Good. Oh, and when you get back to your desk, tell Lucas I'd like to see him; one of our Parking ticket ladies is out on Maternity Leave- he can take over for her until she's ready to come back. That should chastise him sufficiently for that stunt he pulled at the party. Just glad no one outside the force found out about the true reason why half the force was sick with the flu."

"Let's hope sir."

When George gets to his new squad, he finds out that his assignment is to....
