“Incoming! AGGHGHHHHHHH!!!!” Screamed a soldier as a fireball rocked the wall.
The wall that had protected Argol for a 1000 years was beginning to crumble. Rows of dwarves, elves, and men marched into battle. They immediately entered heavy combat. Queen Amber has summoned an army of creatures that could match that of the Argolians. Her three daughters led the charge.
Meanwhile, in the Argolian War Room....
4 men and one woman sat around the table. A general for each race. Elves, Dwarves, and Humans, as well as the wizard Marrin, and the Queen of Argol.
“Gentlemen, we must retreat to the city immediately. The Forrest of Despair has fallen. Our armies in the Western fields have been encircled, and they are closing in on the gates. Our only success has been a raid on Mount Peril by our Special Forces. We rescued almost a hundred POWs, mainly Dwarves. We also managed to retrieve a One Stone. Our top riders are on their way now. It will prove invaluable.” Said the Elf General.
“My Captains report the same. We have captured the western bank of the river, but the Goblins are planning an invasion which will come any day now. They outnumber my troops 3-1, and have 1 of the sisters. I agree. We need to pull back and defend the city.”
“What resources have we left? General Manor?” Asked the Queen.
The Human general lowered his head. “Ma’am. We have a thousand Elves, 750 Dwarves, 500 men, 10 giants, and a few fairies, (40-50) that we have managed to train, in the field. We also have 450 soldiers of combined race here in Argol. All of whom are well supplied, and of course we have our weapon, should you choose to use it. I suggest that it be unleashed now! No delays.”
“No! We cannot risk it. We need to save it for our final defense!” The Dwarf said, slamming his fist.
“My people are dying! We need him now! Do not forget that the Humans welcomed your kind into our hearts and homes. We have lost everything. So I suggest, general, that you let me decide!” Screamed the human.
“Silence.” Marrin said, raising his hand. “My people, you mustn’t give in to hate. We must embrace each other. As for our ‘weapon’, it can only be used to save us, not to kill others.”
The generals nodded. “Now, I suggest we strategize and save our kingdom.” Marrin said, nodding with wisdom.
“Gentlemen, and your highness, we have but three courses of action:
1. We could send in our reserve troops. This will push the enemy back, but it will leave us vulnerable to attack here.
2. We could pull back and defend. This will give us time to prepare, and possibly find the Crown. We are nearing the location every passing second.
3. We unleash our greatest weapon. The Sword of Artemis. It can only be wielded by one. Commander Sophie, our top Human. We would have to summon her from her recent raid on Mt. Peril.
