Leo was a famous hero. He had wandered all over the world. He had defeated evil kings, dragons, demons, witches, necromancers and so on. One day, he heard of a land which once had been the home of multiple kingdoms, living together in harmony. Peace had seemed to last forever, until on one fateful day, a demon witch appeared. She had attacked the kingdom of Widowwood. The people struggled, but none of them had been a match for her massive size and incredible magic powers. After the kingdom had fallen, the others had realized that they would either have to worship their new demon goddess or receive doom by her hand. Still, some had continued to fight. It had been a hopeless battle, leaving the land in ruins. Eventually, everyone accepted the demon as their new goddess. Now, there even was a cult that worshipped her. A cult which apparently only had females as high ranked members.
That was a challenge Leo accepted immediately. Defeating a powerful demon witch and freeing multiple kingdoms at once, that was something to make him even more famous. And of course, it was all for the sake of good. He was a hero after all, and defeating evil was his job. The moment he entered the land, he sensed something was amiss. The plantlife, the people and even the earth itself seemed sick and lifeless, but also filled with a strange and powerful presence. As he wandered deeper into the land, the plants got more and more dangerous and appeared to be surrounded by an evil aura. But that did not shock him too much. He had seen something like this once or twice. This demon witch, Lydia he recalled her name, was truly something. Yet, he was still confident enough to think he could take her out.
Finally, at the center of the land, he saw it. An unfriendly forest of lifeless trees and thorns, surrounding a huge mountain covered in giant, spike-like rocks. On top of it, there was a large temple, built entirely with dark-red stones, as if it was made of solid blood. To make the scenery appear even more unnecessarily evil, the sky was covered in a giant, spinning, red glowing cloud. So that was the cult's headquarter and that was the place Leo hoped to find Lydia.
As he wandered through the forest, he had the sensation of being watched. But when he looked around, there was no-one there. Still, it felt like he was surrounded by an evil presence which tried to crush him with it's pure aura. The air was thick and hot and it seemed like spears of pure hatred were piercing through him. A lesser hero would probably already be gone, running away as fast as he could. But Leo was a strong and brave hero, who would fear no danger, because no demon witch or whatever stood a chance against him. When that thought crossed his mind, he smiled confidently, but suddenly, he heard a distant laughter coming from the woods. A laughter which seemed to taunt him. But as he looked around, he still saw no-one. He shook his head. Probably just his imagination. So he walked on, ready to fight and slay the demon witch Lydia.
Little did he know that Lydia was no ordinary witch or demon. She had ascended to something far greater and would be way stronger than anything the hero had faced before.
