With a devilish smirk, Lydia walked through the portal she had created and into a new world. As she arrived, she was impressed by the sight that greeted her. Everywhere she looked, there were buildings. Too many buildings for her to count. And not just ordinary buildings either. No, these ones were massive skyscrapers, so huge that they all but dwarfed even the biggest buildings from back in her own world.
And then there were the streets, which were practically overflowing with people, many of whom where driving around in strange horseless carriages made of metal. Truly, the world she had entered was an impressive one, and it's technological advances put those of her own world to shame many times over.
However, this society had made one critical mistake: they had neglected the study of the magical arts. As great as their technology was, there was no amount of technology in the world that could outmatch the limitless potential of magic. A single powerful mage could easily make short work of any weapons that this society possessed, and bring this world to its knees with very little effort. And of course, there was no greater mage in this or any other world than the newly empowered Lydia.
Smiling evilly to herself, Lydia began to consider her options. Surely she was capable of conquering this pathetic world at any time she wished, but it would be a shame to come all the way to another world without first taking some time to enjoy the new sights.
So the question was raised: Should Lydia conquer this world immediately and put its people in their rightful place beneath her, or should she set aside her ambitions for a moment and simply enjoy the new surroundings?
