This choice: Lydia is not alone; she summons her lacky to help her prepare • Go Back...Chapter #2Nothing is better than friends by: MadJack The newly-revitalized Lydia was practically strutting as she walked about her small workspace. While she'd been interested in the power these dark magiks gave her, there was no denying that the added physical bonuses were enjoyable as well. Yes, she liked this quite a lot. Best to show her servant the new, improved Lydia.
She made her way upstairs, to the small sleeping chamber. Initially lonely after her first months of exile, Lydia had been pleased to find a fellow stray out in the outskirts of the valley. She'd blessed this wretch with home and companionship, and all she asked in return was a little service. And if Lydia should occasionally lose her temper, or abuse her lackey out of frustration at her slow magical progress...well, that was simply the price one paid for the room and board Lydia provided.
Besides, Lydia was completely certain her servant would enjoy the changes she'd undergone.
Who is Lydia's servant?
Alexi: A runaway with a violent temper. She hates the kingdom and the abusive family she ran from. She's not too fond of the way Lydia treats her, but she's easily manipulated.
Null: An undead young man raised by Lydia's necromancy; he was her lover in life, and was killed in battle after she was exiled. He retains human intellect, but no emotions, nor memory of his past life. He is completely loyal to Lydia, although her twisted emotions often lead her to hate him just as passionately as she'd loved him in life.
Sari: A young woman born under a bad omen, Sari was always an odd girl. Cold and emotionless, she was driven from her home when various misfortunes were blamed on her. She studies magic under Lydia, and although she hides it well, Sari plots to betray her mistress and seize the power for herself at the first opportunity.
Amanda: Belittled and ignored her entire life, Amanda wondered into the Blackfire Forest to kill herself, when Lydia intervened. She gave the waif of a girl purpose, albeit not much beyond servitude. Amanda completely lacks self-confidence, and is very easy to control. However, she does occasionally show hint of repressed rage at those in the kingdom who hurt her. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
