This choice: Josh uses his new powers on Kate • Go Back... "Well there's always myself..." Josh found himself thinking as he stared down at the Dictaphone in his hands. "I wonder what Kate would think if all of a sudden I was the captain of the football team, or maybe a rock idol..." but his thoughts wandered off as he found himself staring down at the Dictaphone. But I don't want any of that, Josh found himself thinking. What he really wanted, was for Kate to like him, No that's not right, he shook his head again. She did like him, which was good, but it was also the problem.
She doesn't like me like I like her, Josh heard himself sigh, then aloud to no one in particular, "If only I could make her -"
He stopped as he came out of his wallowing to realize what he had just been given. "With this I could make her like me. Yeah!" He said excitedly, that's what he would do. And his finger pressed down on the record button...only to press the stop button instantly. "What the hell am I doing? I can't just mess with other people's minds like that." Looking around his room he shook his head, Changing the color of my room is one thing, but messing with another person's head, he found he was once again staring at the machine in his hands.
You do realize it changes reality, right?, said a voice inside Josh's head. Oddly enough it was his own, Reality will reshape itself so that it has always been that way. What's there to worry about?
I don't really think I should be messing with her head, Josh found himself replying to what he could only imagine was his desires given voice. She probably has her own reasons for friend-zoning me.
Who really cares what her reasons are?, said his desires, She could be yours, and you don't even have to do a thing-
"That's it!" Josh nearly shouted. "I could do something for her."
Like what?, said his desire, you don't have any clue what she wants. What are you going to do guess?
No, Josh reprimanded his own thoughts, I could use the Dictaphone to find out what she wants-
Yes like invading a person's thoughts is SO much better than just changing them, his desire mocked. Look are you going to sit here all night and think about or just do what we both know you want.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
