She grinned as wide a grin as a beak could give."There's this awesome restaurant just a few blocks over. It serves everything! Raw fish, buckets of bugs, some nice slime dessert, oh they have this amazing Eyeball-"She paused as she looked down at your disgusted face."Oh yeah....I'm sure they got some human grub down their too."She chuckled.
"...Fine."
"Great!"She got up, holding you in her feathery palm carefully."Let's go!"
Elle walked out the door and out of the apartment, leading you to a view of the rest of Horrorville. It looked exactly as the name would sound signify. Dark grey clouds hung heavily overhead. Tall, giant skyscrapers(relative to the monsters) of gothic deocorum rose into the sky, and monsters of all shapes and sizes walked through the streets. Some gave you odd looks as they passed by, as if the sight of a small human was the most curious thing in the world. For the most part, the monsters who walked by greeted Elle with a wave and a smile.
"Yo Elle!"A Cyclops greeted her with a fist pump.
"Rory!"She fist pumped back just as enthusiastically.
"What you doing with a human?"
"Naw man, this is R.L. He's one cool little dude."
This was about the same with every friend she walked by. Elle was pretty popular. As you neared the restaurant, bright neon letters greeted you. Echidna's Nest was what was emblazoned as the eatery's name. Huh. Fitting name. Echidna was the mother of all monsters, so you guessed it was tribute to her or something. The thunderbird harpy opened the door, and a draconic waiter greeted her."Evening Miss. Table for..."
"Two please."
"Two?"
"I have a little date."She held you up, and the waiter looked at you awkwardly.
"Okay...err...right this way."He motioned, Elle followed, and the two of you were seated in a booth. She sat down and settled you atop the table."Swanky place, eh?"She commented towards you. You had to admit, it was pretty nice. It had a greek fashion to the architecture, but a dark vibe due to the lighting. Overall, perfect place for a monster to eat. Too bad you weren't a monster.
